photos from last Friday

We flew from Guilin to Guangzhou to Guiyang.  All flights were smooth and actually took off and landed early!  Vickie, our America World guide in Guiyang, met us at the airport and gave us an educational talk about Guizhou province while we drove.  This area also has pretty hills and mountains similar to Guilin.  The city is very modern with lots of construction.  Our hotel is in a city center location by a mall and big grocery-housewares type store.

Ariel did very well on the travel day, being the excellent traveler she is.

Layover in Guangzhou.  We found a kids' lounge with Doraemon chairs and the TV was playing Doraemon cartoon.  A pleasant rest for us.

Meeting Vickie in Guiyang

Our room.  It has a tiny crib, but we use it for storing kid clothes & diapers.  We pushed our 2 full size beds together and are sleeping in one big bed.  Ariel doesn't mind sleeping with her new sister's hands or feet on her head.

I found some vegan Taiwanese food at the mall food court.   It was really dessert: bean curd and peanuts, tapioca and mung beans and fruit and some kind of sweet brown jelly.

Jeff & Ariel had spaghetti that our new friend, Garry, delivered to the tapioca place.  Garry is from Taipei, but here on business setting up a restaurant in the food court.  He spoke English and helped us!  This was our last dinner together as a family of three (well, 5, with the cats.)

It was Nov 1st, but there was a Halloween party in the mall.
