"meeting Ariel" video

This is our gotcha day video:
Meeting Ariel , April 19, 2010, Guangzhou Civil Affairs Office

Since videos don't work well on this blog, I just made a link to the video on You Tube.
That day, things were happening fast, and it seemed like all the families were meeting their children at once. So Jeff had to play camera man, while also meeting Ariel - quite the feat! He is self-conscious about his voice in the video, but I think it's fine, and she really liked him talking to her during those moments.

Before they brought our children out, we had to fill out forms with names & addresses exactly how they should appear on the adoption paperwork. It was a lot of pressure, and I don't think any of us could think straight. Before that, we had only about 30 minutes to settle in our new hotel room and gather what we needed for the big event, so we were quite frazzled. Of course, Ariel helped us with her calm and sweet demeanor. All day, my mentality was just "Gimme that baby!"

(PS - if you wonder who Lineker is, he was our guide - the Chinese man in the red-striped shirt. I guess he was the first person I saw when I looked up after receiving Ariel. Lineker and his wife, Amy, worked hard to help the day go smoothly. Their best advice on the bus to the Civil Affairs Office was to "not be too nervous and smile" to help the children relax.)
