home and therapy
Showing sympathy for our friends Casie, Mike, and Theo, who's dog Buster crossed the rainbow bridge.
Warm & cozy in her new Minnesota sweatshirt from Grandma Barb and Papa Rich
Sensory input at occupational therapy (OT). Ariel is inside a Lycra sheet that fits over this mattress. Sarah is rolling a ball over her. I took lots of photos that day to give us ideas to use at home. Sarah has lots of fun ideas, and Ariel always has fun with her.
Swinging and throwing beanbags into a circle, while wearing a weighted vest.
Wouldn't it be fun to have all this equipment at home?

spring activities
the carousel on the National Mall (by Smithsonian Castle)
She loved it - it went fast!
An Easter package from Grandma Barb & Papa Rich. She immediately fell in love with the big bunny.
With our buddy Marika on a summer-like day.
Taking a rest as we strolled through Old Town Alexandria.
But at the wharf, she decided to help out.
Swinging and using the Integrated Listening System (iLS) at occupational therapy. Ariel has had a surge in language lately, and we think the iLS is helping. Of course, it helps to wear a Park Falls, Wisconsin bear & moon shirt, too.
Buying a new Hello Kitty hat at Andrews BX.

work and rest
Ariel fell asleep during a favorite book, Kittens. Nene usually takes advantage of Ariel naptime to cuddle in.
Listening to music on headphones. Ariel is trying the Integrated Listening System at occupational therapy, so she's getting used to headphones at home. We found out she likes songs from "Grease", country & lively folk music, and John Denver (well, of course.) We were sick with a bad cold, so I wasn't looking great here. We have "special time" in the downstairs guest room to focus on play dough, lacing beads, Legos, cutting paper, etc. Swinging, jumping on the bed, and reading books are her rewards for working.
Swinging with Jody at occupational therapy. She'll be going to OT twice a week now, and will use the Integrated Listening System during sessions, just like her friend Marika.
Well-deserved rest.
