Veterans' Day in New York

 (actually from the day before)
After Central Park, the weather turned cold and rainy.  Ariel fell asleep in the Beatles section of FAO Schwarz toy store.

We found lots of vegan food in New York.

 Exploring Midtown

and Times Square!  (after a bathroom break in Macy's)

The Veterans' Day Parade was full of drums, music, and flag-waving.

We watched from in front of New York Public Library

Then we caught the train home, after Ariel took a nap in the train station, and we sat by a lady with who had adopted her daughter from Taiwan.

See you next time, New York!

It's Yoko Ono's memorial garden to John Lennon.  We listened to a man play guitar and sing Beatles songs.

Ariel was fascinated by the kitten, and for the rest of the afternoon, she kept mentioning "a kitten!"

Trip to New York

We took the train to New York for Veteran's Day weekend.  Ariel got to sit by Jeff and read her My Little Pony: Belle of the Ball book (a favorite.)

Then she took a good nap.

We walked from NYC Penn Station to our hotel.  Ariel carried her own luggage.  She had a huge smile on her face most of the trip.  We knew she would love New York.

The first afternoon, we went to a playground across from the Chinese Embassy.  We played on the swings next to a dad and daughter who also enjoyed Sandra Boynton books.  So we sang "Personal Penguin" and waddled like penguins for the girls.
